At BreastScreen SA, we understand that for some women, the clinical environment can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’re proud to offer Sensory Friendly Clinics - designed to make breast screening a more comfortable experience for individuals with sensory needs.

In a Sensory Friendly Clinic, you’ll be welcomed into a calm, supportive space by our compassionate female staff, specifically trained in sensory processing. Upon booking you will be able to discuss your unique needs to ensure your visit is as comfortable as possible. The clinics will include:

• Extended appointment times
• Fewer people in the clinic
• More space to wait for the appointment
• Customised lighting
• Fragrance-free environment
• Support to use headphones to listen to music
• Access to sensory relaxation tools

When booking, you can share any individual preferences with us, and our staff will be mindful of them throughout your appointment. You’re also encouraged to let us know if there’s anything more we can do to enhance your experience - we genuinely want your feedback.
