ACD Practical Dermoscopy Training Course

Registrations close Thursday 24 June 2021

This training, funded by Wellbeing SA, provides GPs with the skills and knowledge to put dermoscopy theory into practice, and an understanding of how it can be used to manage patients with skin cancer.

The Australasian College of Dermatologists will provide a Practical Dermoscopy course. The course is an 8-week program delivered in a blended learning format. The course consists of a total of approximately 30-50 hours of student effort.

A maximum of two general practitioners and/or nurse practitioners from each practice can register for this training. Once all places have been booked, you can either request to be placed on the waiting list for any future training sessions to be held by Wellbeing SA,  or register a different training round with the Australasian College of Dermatologists at your own cost by emailing

This includes:

  • 6 self-paced online modules, beginning 5 July 2021
  • clinical case studies
  • a one-day face-to-face workshop (held in Adelaide, venue to be confirmed) to be held on Saturday 24 July 2021. The workshop component will give you the opportunity to consolidate the skills you have learnt in the online modules and clinical case studies. You will work in small groups and develop your practical procedural and surgical skills.
  • a final two-hour online virtual exam

Completion of both online training and attendance at the face-to-face workshop is mandatory to be eligible to pass the course.
