Country SA PHN, Ageing and Palliative Care, care finder lead, Helen Morey, joined forces with the SA Engagement Team from the Department of Health and Aged Care, at the Ageing in Style mini expo in the local shopping mall in Nuriootpa. The small expo provides a welcoming and easy environment for local older people to speak to the exhibitors including Dementia Australia, Country & Outback Health, Aged Rights Advocacy Service, Meals on Wheels, Barossa Library, Uniting Communities, Barossa Village and a local mobility aid provider. Country SA PHN shared information on the care finder program, palliative care, support for Residential Aged Care Home staff and much more.
Helen said, “sharing an information table with the Department of Health and Aged Care allowed the community to see the connection between our work. Collaboration is so important in the complex aged care sector space. Country & Outback Health’s care finder was also available to chat with those more vulnerable people who need a much greater level of help to access my aged care. It was certainly a very well-attended, successful and busy morning!”
