Drought is far reaching for farmers and communities living through month-on-month of low and no rainfall. Uncertainty, financial pressure and concern about environmental impacts are common issues raised during drought conditions.
When it does rain, that doesn’t eliminate issues caused by dealing with daily decisions as a result of dry conditions.
The South Australian Government’s Drought Response package covers a range of supports for individuals, business and communities impacted by drought.
Supports include grants, rebates and other financial assistance towards farm and drought infrastructure, mental health and building resilience, access to livestock hay, fodder and water, support for tourism and community events and more.
