Bringing expert wound care education to residential aged care teams

Country SA PHN is thrilled to introduce the Fundamentals of Wound Management training program, tailored specifically for your residential aged care team.

Why wound care matters

Chronic wounds, such as leg ulcers and pressure injuries, affect over 420,000 Australians and cost the healthcare system more than $3 billion annually. These wounds impact people of all ages, but their prevalence rises significantly with age. With Australia’s ageing population, there’s a pressing need for skilled clinicians, advanced wound care services, and ongoing education in wound management.

Our initiative

Country SA PHN has funded SA-based Wound Innovations to deliver expert wound management education and clinical support to residential aged care homes. This initiative is designed to:

  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing staff.
  • Improve wound care outcomes for residents.
  • Promote organisational strategies for effective wound prevention.
What’s Included in the training?
  • FREE face-to-face education led by industry experts from Wound Innovations.
  • Accredited CPD points to support your professional development.
  • Light refreshments to keep you recharged during sessions.
  • Comprehensive learning topics such as:
    • Understanding skin and wound healing, including managing skin tears.
    • Best practices for pressure injuries and incontinence-associated dermatitis.
    • Effective management of lower leg wounds.
