On Friday 14 March 2025, the Catalyst Foundation facilitated the inaugural Limestone Coast Disability, Aged and Lifestyle Expo. The event was held at the Wulanda Recreational centre in Mount Gambier. The event aimed to foster awareness, support, and empowerment of individuals, families, and carers in the Limestone Coast region.
Care finder Kira Thomson attended on the day and said “The event was well received with over 250 people attending. It was a great opportunity to speak with both service providers and potential clients. Clients had the opportunity to speak directly with the many services available in Mount Gambier and Limestone Coast region.”
The care finder service is available in Mount Gambier at FocusOne Health. The program is aimed at people aged 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people). The program supports people who have no-one else to help them, including those who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness, have had poor past experiences with government institutions, or have difficulty communicating.
Kira encourages people to contact the care finder team for further information. FocusOne Health work in partnership with County and Outback Health to deliver the care finder program. Referrals can be made via the website referral form or by contacting (08) 8644 4900.
This service is made possible by funding and support from Country SA PHN.
