Care finders extend their knowledge on dementia

Country SA PHN Newsletter June 2025

Care finders from country and metro South Australia, enjoyed learning from three fabulous speakers during the April care finder networking meeting.

Dementia Australia’s Renée de Wet presented to the care finders, sharing an overview of the more common types of dementia and the many services and supports available.

Uniting Communities’ Melissa Heywood and Roz Minion presented on the innovative Staying at Home program, sharing insights on how the program supports those caring for a person living with dementia.

Care finders often support people living with dementia, and the group shared after on how terrific the learnings were for them.

Helen, care finder lead at Country SA PHN, said, “learning from others and working in partnership, is vital for integrating the care finder service into health and aged care more broadly and our bi-monthly care finder education and network meetings with Adelaide PHN are a valuable support platform for everyone”.
