Do you support people affected by drought? - November 2025

Country SA PHN Newsletter November 2025

In uncertain times, it’s normal for people to feel overwhelmed, worried or unsure about the future – especially in regional areas where challenges like drought can add extra pressure.

As trusted health professionals, GPs are often the first point of contact for people experiencing distress. Your role in recognising the early signs of stress, anxiety or low mood, and connecting patients with appropriate support, can make a real difference.

SA Health has launched a new mental health awareness campaign to encourage drought-affected communities to reach out for help during difficult times. The campaign highlights local mental health services available across regional South Australia and aims to reduce stigma around seeking support.

You can access posters, brochures and digital resources to display in your practice and help raise awareness among patients.

A range of regional mental health services are available to provide immediate and ongoing support, including Centacare, Mind Australia, Skylight Mental Health and Uniting SA.
