Gender Diversity in Schools

Monday 20 March 2023, 4.00pm - 5.30pm

This course considers the unique challenges of being LGBTIQA+ in the school setting and unpacks the role of school staff in ensuring safe and supportive environments. Through activities and discussions, participants will have the opportunity to expand their own knowledge and understanding of gender diversity and inclusive practice.

Participants will:

• Gain an understanding of terminology around gender diversity
• Unpack personal values and feel confident to challenge values, attitudes and beliefs of themselves and others
• Learn how to model and promote inclusive practices
• Explore suggestions for a whole-school approach, including language, support, policies and procedures
• Discuss topics and questions in a safe space

This course is designed for those working in an education setting, including teachers, leadership staff, SSOs and admin.

Cost: $65 for Department for Education staff, $85 for non-government school/other organisation staff, $35 for pre-service teachers. Costs include GST
