Country SA PHN is funding Neami National to provide free, quality mental health care for adults at the Medicare Mental Health Centre in Port Pirie.
The Medicare Mental Health Centre is now open providing free mental health care that is easy to get when you need it. The Medicare Mental Health Centre is for everyone, even if you have never asked for mental health help before.
Adults living in Port Pirie and surrounding regions can walk in and talk to someone for mental health support. You don’t need an appointment, referral or Medicare card to visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre.
When you arrive, a trained professional will talk to you about your concerns and goals to identify the support you need. This may involve making an appoint to visit again and access short-term mental health care at the Medicare Mental Health Centre. Alternatively, staff may connect you with other services and supports available in your local area.
Visit the centre:
The service is provided by a friendly team of peer practitioners and mental health professionals.
If you prefer to make an appointment, you or your referring provider can do this by calling Head to Health on 1800 595 212 (between 8.30am to 5pm weekdays). The Head to Health team will provide and advice and referral to the most appropriate service. This may be a referral into the Medicare Mental Health Centre.
The centre is located at 129 Ellen Street, Port Pirie, SA 5540. Services are open 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) from 9am – 5pm.
