In December 2025 Country SA PHN and HealthPathways SA are announcing the launch of the next suite of Gynaecology/Women’s Health pathways. We explore how these are designed to better support women’s health, particularly in relation to endometriosis and pelvic pain.
Country SA PHN and HealthPathways SA is excited to announce the launch of the next suite of Gynaecology/Women’s Health pathways:
These pathways are designed to support better diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain in primary care, helping women access appropriate care and manage the impact of these conditions more effectively.
They were developed in collaboration with PHN-funded Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinics, members of the South Australian Pelvic Pain Network (SAPPN), Clinical Leads, GPs with a special interest, and local advocates to ensure they are tailored to the needs of South Australian clinicians and communities.
‘Management of disabling pelvic pain is a challenging issue for GPs to navigate. The newly released Women’s Health pathways provide easy to follow clinical advice including pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies with links to resources for patient self-management, as well as links to community resources and key referral pathways in South Australia. The evidence-based pathways have been reviewed by SA SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and incorporate recommendations from the recently published RANZCOG Living evidence guidelines: Endometriosis.’ - Dr Lucie Monet GP Clinical Editor
