Are you up to date on HIV exposure management?
HealthPathways South Australia offers GPs and other clinicians free access to comprehensive and evidenced based care pathways like our latest on HIV and Post-exposure Prophylaxis (PEP);
“Post-exposure Prophylaxis for HIV pathway is now live and incorporates updated ASHM PEP for HIV Guidelines. Timely prescription of HIV PEP is 80% effective in preventing transmission of HIV.
The pathway includes detailed advice on exposure and treatment timing, HIV PEP regimens including paediatric use, patient advice, drug interactions, provider prescribing and access locations, indications for referral, follow up testing, and associated prophylaxis.
This new pathway complements our HIV Diagnosis and Initial Management pathway and the HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis pathways.”
Dr Suzi Pedler GP Clinical Editor.
Other pathways benefitting from new ASHM guidelines include ourSyphilis and Chlamydia pages. These pathways have recently undergone a robust review process which reflects the response to current surges in STIs in South Australia.
