Improving access to immunisation for vulnerable communities in Port Augusta

“Thanks to funding support from the Country SA PHN, Stellar Health Solutions has successfully launched a local immunisation service in Port Augusta, focusing on reaching our region’s most vulnerable. Since commencing, the service has already administered over 50 vaccines to community members, helping close the immunisation gap in our area.

One of the standout achievements has been our regular outreach to the local drug, alcohol, and homeless clinic, where we’ve seen strong attendance and engagement. For many, this was the first time they had accessed vaccinations in years. By delivering culturally safe, judgment-free care through our local nurses, we’ve created a trusted space that supports community health and well-being.

We’ve also welcomed many young people into our Port Augusta clinic, with parents choosing Stellar Health because we are local, we offer a safe and calming space, and we provide timely access to immunisations without the need to wait for a GP appointment.

This initiative helps protect individuals against preventable diseases and improves public health outcomes across the wider Port Augusta community.”
