Innovative wound care training for Residential Aged Care Homes across country SA

Country SA PHN Newsletter March 2025

Country SA PHN is pleased to be funding South Australian-based Wound Innovations to deliver an innovative approach to wound management across the region.

Over the next six months, Wound Innovations will visit 76 Residential Aged Care Homes (RACHs) throughout country SA to deliver a comprehensive program aimed at enhancing wound care practices.

The program will feature Full Fundamentals of Wound Management sessions, which will be delivered twice to each RACH. These four-hour sessions will be tailored to meet the needs of all staff, with RACHs offering both morning and afternoon sessions to ensure maximum participation. In total, 152 sessions will be provided, ensuring that staff members from all disciplines have access to the latest wound care practices and insights. This innovative initiative is designed to equip staff with the knowledge and tools needed to improve wound management and ultimately enhance the quality of care for residents across country SA. We are excited to support this important project and look forward to the positive outcomes it will bring to the region's residential aged care homes.
