Introduction to Sexual and Reproductive Health

Thursday 29 July 2021, 7.00pm – 8.30pm (AEST)

The Australian Government has identified improvements in knowledge and awareness of STIs among health professionals, as well as accessible sexual and reproductive health services as key national health priorities.

General practitioners have a pivotal role in the provision of sexual and reproductive healthcare in Australia. However, GPs have identified several challenges in being confident to provide sexual and reproductive health consultations to their patients.

This webinar will provide general practitioners with an overview of sexual and reproductive health care in general practice, covering sexual health, sexual history taking, STI screening and contraception.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe effective sexual history taking in your practice setting
  • Explain the importance of screening/testing and contact tracing for STIs
  • Summarise the importance of accurate information for contraceptive choices

This webinar is being run in partnership with RACGP and Iris Education.

This education is pending accreditation as a CPD Activity under the RACGP CPD Program. 3 points allocated.
