Health System Integration and Innovation

We visit the Doctors at Westlands team who will be providing the new Whyalla Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, and the local health staff who will be delivering the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Local Link Program. We also review the success of the first two months of the Mount Gambier Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

Congratulations to headspace Gawler for celebrating their official opening - headspace Gawler offers free and confidential support for young people aged 12–25, across a range of health and wellbeing areas.

Strategic Engagement

Community Collaborations manager Bridget Kennelly had a busy few weeks attending meetings with key health stakeholders in the north and west of the state. Key presentations were held on the Distress Brief Pilot in Whyalla and health services across various towns. She also attended the Mentally Fit EP 3C’s Conference which was a great success.

The Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) welcomes the Albanese Government's continued investment in the Aged Care Nursing Clinical Placement Program (ACNCPP) with the announcement of an extra $5.1m in funding. More information

GPMHSC 2026 – 2028 Standards
The GPMHSC is responsible for the creation and development of the Mental Health Training Standards: A Guide for GPs, as part of the Better Access Initiative. The GPMHSC has now released the 2026–28 edition to the Standards, with the most up to date research, information and data. The Mental Health Training Standards: A Guide for GPs is a clear and concise resource designed to help GPs quickly and easily find information about mental health training and education.
