As another year draws to a close, it is a fitting time to pause and reflect on Country SA PHN’s achievements and the associated positive outcomes for country South Australians. 1 July 2025 marked Country SA PHN’s ten-year anniversary - providing the opportunity to consider the achievements and challenges of the decade. During this time Country SA PHN has matured into a contemporary, dynamic and significant organisation that is able to adapt and align strategy to the changing primary health and wellbeing needs of country South Australians.
In 2025 we have continued this journey. It has been a rewarding year for Country SA PHN and therefore the country South Australian communities we serve. We have been agile and innovative - seeking creative ways to ensure primary health and wellbeing outcomes for country South Australians are being enhanced by our work.
There have been many highlights for Country SA PHN throughout the year, among them the opening of new headspace centres in Port Lincoln and Gawler along with Medicare Mental Health Centres in Port Pirie and Mount Barker. We continue to see positive outcomes from community led programs via the initiatives of the Rural Health Innovation Fund grant recipients. The ongoing commitment of CSAPHN Primary Care and Digital Support team along with our Ageing and Palliative Care team assists country South Australian primary health providers to offer the best possible care.
Of significant benefit is our Country SA PHN regional Board engagements – incorporating a stakeholder engagement evening with our Board meetings in different rural locations across country South Australia. It has been a pleasure and extremely insightful to engage with stakeholders from across general practice, councils, regional development, community advisory committees and our commissioned service providers this year. I look forward to these engagements throughout 2026 and gaining further insights about our diverse regional communities.
In closing, I would like to draw your attention to the Country SA PHN 2024-25 annual report to engage further with some of the primary health care activities we are supporting in country South Australia.
On behalf of Country SA PHN thank you to all those with whom we have collaborated in 2025. We are humbled to play a part in improving country South Australians health and wellbeing outcomes and build happier and healthier communities. We wish you all a happy festive season and hope you can enjoy some restful and relaxing time with loved ones.
