Message from the CEO

Mr Mark Hartigan

Country SA PHN is assisting the Federal Government to deliver a General Practice Grants Program to country South Australian practices that will help our rural and remote communities access quality primary health care.

The $220 million Strengthening Medicare – General Practice (GP) Grants Program allows eligible General Practices and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services to expand patient access and improve services. A one-off grant of either $25,000, $35,000 or $50,000 will be available to participating practices.

The GP Grants will support general practices to make investments in innovation, training, equipment, and minor capital works in one or more of the following: enhance digital health capability, upgrade infection prevention and control arrangements and maintain and/or achieve accreditation against the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for General Practices.

Country SA PHN is pleased the Federal Government is recognising the tireless contribution that GPs made during the pandemic through Strengthening Medicare. Offering practices resources to invest in their practices acknowledges the crucial role primary health care plays in our communities every day. Improving practices capacity will assist country South Australians to receive quality health care when they need it.

All eligible practices will have received an email invitation containing all required documents to be completed by 15 June 2023.

More information is available in the Department of Health and Aged Care Fact Sheet or go to www.countrysaphn.com.au. Or queries can be directed to [email protected].
