MindFit at Work – Wellbeing for health workforce in general practice and Residential Aged Care Homes

Country SA PHN Newsletter March 2025

The health and wellbeing of our dedicated general practice (GP) and Residential Aged Care Home (RACH) staff are essential to providing excellent patient care. That's why we're proud to fund the Mindfit at Work program, which has been designed specifically to support the mental health of our workforce across country South Australia. The first of three face to face sessions kicked off in February with “Flexible Resilience” and feedback from participants has been great!

This innovative staff wellbeing program equips participants with tools and strategies to manage stress, build resilience, and improve overall mental wellbeing. It’s tailored to the unique challenges of working in rural healthcare settings, where staff often face high workloads, isolation, and emotional strain.

The Benefits:

  • Enhanced Mental Resilience: Staff are trained to cope with the pressures of their roles, leading to improved emotional strength and better job satisfaction.
  • Reduced Burnout: Regular engagement in Mindfit sessions helps prevent burnout by addressing mental fatigue and stress before they take a toll.
  • Stronger Team Morale: The program fosters connection and support among colleagues, creating a more collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Better Patient Care: When staff feel mentally well, they are more focused and compassionate, translating to higher-quality care for patients.

The Mindfit at Work program is a vital part of supporting our healthcare teams across country SA, helping to ensure that they remain healthy, engaged, and capable of providing the best care possible to our communities.

The next face to face session of Resilient Thinking will commence in April 2025. We hope to see you there.
