New service: With Respect FDSV Counselling Service for LGBTIQA+ people

SHINE SA’s new service provides free professional and specialised counselling and support for LGBTIQA+ people who have been impacted by family, domestic or sexual violence.

Who is this service available to

This service is available to anyone over 16 years old in South Australia from LGBTIQA+ communities who has experienced – or is currently experiencing – family, domestic, or sexual violence.

How can clients access this service

This service is free, and clients don’t need a referral to access this service.

Contact SHINE SA on 8300 5300 and ask to book an appointment to see our With Respect counsellor.

This service is located at SHINE SA Woodville on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

This service is also located at SHINE SA Hyde Street Practice, Adelaide on Tuesdays 9:00 am – 5:00pm, by appointment only.

We can support clients with:

  • Managing the impact of family, domestic, or sexual violence
  • Therapeutic counselling
  • Communicating with supporters
  • Creating safety plans
  • Connecting with further support services.
