Hear from recognised experts in the field to explore your beliefs, inform your knowledge and improve your skills in the assessment and management of people with chronic breathlessness.

This 1-day, interactive workshop involves experiential learning and practical demonstrations to convey current thinking on mechanisms, assessment and non-pharmacological management of chronic breathlessness, with a focus on brief interventions for breathing, thinking, functioning and living well.

This one-day workshop includes:

  • current biopsychosocial concepts of the experience of chronic breathlessness
  • ways to assess and monitor chronic breathlessness.
  • a clinical model to inform (a) assessment and (b) choice of management strategies
  • practical, evidence-based non-pharmacological management strategies [quick wins]
  • opportunities to think about your own beliefs and expectations of chronic breathlessness and how these influence the people under your care
  • information about other resources for understanding and managing chronic breathlessness

The workshop is followed by 4 x1 hour monthly online mentoring / community of practice sessions (optional), to support health professionals translate knowledge and skills from the workshop to their clinical practice.
