The Best of Times, the Worst Times - Perinatal and Infant Mental Health

Monday 22 November to Tuesday 23 November 2021, 8.00am - 4.30pm

Helen Mayo House Annual Conference theme, “the Best of Times, the Worst of Times” aims to capture the spirit of perinatal and infant mental health in 2021. The families we serve have been experiencing some of the best and worst times of their lives, while in our work, we have seen similar contrasts between the worst examples of fear and uncertainty to the best examples of innovation and united effort.

Monday 22 November:

  • Rose Spencer and Dana Shai from the Anna Freud Centre speaking from London regarding their work on Parental Embodied Mentalising
  • Michelle Stuckey speaking from Perth on the psychological impacts of infertility treatment on couples
  • Adelaide's own Angie Willcocks presenting her PhD work on the connections between diet and mental health during pregnancy

Tuesday 23 November :

  • 8:30am –12:00noon  Mi-DBT: Helping Mothers and their Infants Lead Their Best Lives Chris Yelland, Sharron Hollamby and Dr Anne Sved Williams
  • 1:00pm–4:00pm  Dyadic therapy in the Child Protection space: Psychiatrist, Dr Jackie Amos from Centacare
