Updates to the BreastScreen SA website

Country SA PHN Newsletter May 2025

BreastScreen SA is South Australia’s dedicated breast cancer screening program, providing free breast screens to women aged over 40.

The statewide service has recently updated their website, including new pages and information for South Australian women and health professionals.

Women can read about breast cancer and breast screening, find their closest clinic, peruse the new FAQs section, and book a breast screen.

The community engagement section includes information for Aboriginal women, culturally and linguistically diverse women, women with a disability and women living in rural and remote areas. There is also information about group bookings, sensory friendly clinics, and promoting breast screening in the workplace.

Health professionals can browse up-to-date information for GPs, including reading about referrals and eligibility, the breast screen process, breast density, and currently available risk assessment tools. They can also subscribe to Keeping Abreast, BreastScreen SA’s quarterly email newsletter for GPs.

Radiographers can learn about new opportunities, including careers at BreastScreen SA, and online and face-to-face courses available at BreastScreen SA’s Mammography Education Centre.

Health services and practices can also order printed resources.
