This October, BreastScreen SA is reminding women across South Australia to make time for their own health during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
We know women are often the planners, carers and organisers - booking everything from the vet to brunch dates, hair appointments to family check-ups. But when it comes to their own health, a breast screen can easily slip to the bottom of the list. You’ve booked everything else… now book your breast screen.
To help spread the word, we’re raising awareness through social media, posters in the community, and conversations with the women in our lives. A suite of downloadable resources is also available on our website - and we’d love to see posters pop up in your favourite local spots, from gyms and cafés to hair salons and workplaces.
A breast screen is free, and only takes 15 minutes - faster than your average coffee catch-up. We have 8 fixed clinics across metropolitan Adelaide, and mobile units finishing off the year with visits to Wallaroo, Port Pirie, West Lakes, Salisbury and Smithfield Plains.
Book your appointment today at www.breastscreen.sa.gov.au and tick this important task off your list.
