Providing psychological therapy services for rural SA
Psychological therapy services address identified service gaps for people in underserviced groups, including those in rural and remote areas, where there are barriers to accessing Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) based psychological intervention, making optimal use of the available service infrastructure and workforce.
This program provides short term, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented psychological intervention to people with a mild to moderate, or in some cases severe mental health concerns, or to people who have attempted, or are at risk of, suicide or self-harm where access to other services is not appropriate.
The Head to Health Intake and Referral Phone Service can assist you in referring someone to an appropriate, local service or support that meets their needs.
The service is available Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm (except public holidays) and is free to call: 1800 595 212.
