Country SA PHN Digital Health team is busy supporting health care providers in the single biggest upgrade of connections between all health care providers and Services Australia in March. These system changes require health care providers to update to the latest version of their Clinical Information Systems to process claims and exchange health information by March 14. Read more...

At Country SA PHN we are all very proud of our own Anthea Kemp, Country SA PHN Aboriginal Health Assistant Manager, signing up to shave off her long, luscious, lustrous, lavish, locks for the World’s Greatest Shave proudly supporting the Leukaemia Foundation. Donations to The World’s Greatest Shave further life-saving research and support families facing blood-cancer. 

Anthea has raised an amazing $3,370 so far. With an extra $1,430 Anthea can achieve the Discover Badge which will fund the costs of the laboratory time for a research project for three months. Reads more...

Closing the Gap

Closing the Gap (CTG), previously only available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Australians living with, or at risk of, chronic disease, is now available to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Australians, regardless of where they live or their chronic disease status.

Grant Opportunities now Open – Palliative Care in SA

The State Government Palliative Care Grants Program 2022 is to support non-government organisations that can bring innovative ideas to improve service delivery at patient and system level throughout the end-of-life care cycle across South Australia. The Program follows the 2020 round, which focused on priority populations, workforce capacity, as well as South Australians living in residential aged care facilities. Chronic Disease Management and Care Planning Education for CVC Program Nurses
APNA is working in conjunction with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) to provide practice nurses, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Workers and community nurses (RN or EN who are employed by a DVA contracted Community Nursing provider to provide community nursing services) with free education to help them deliver the best possible care to their patients enrolled in the Coordinated Veterans' Care (CVC) Program. Collection of CSF specimens for Alzheimer’s Disease
SA Pathology sends CSF specimens for the highly-specialised Alzheimer test to the National Dementia Diagnostics Laboratory (NDDL) at the University of Melbourne. From 28 February, the NDDL will commence using the Roche Generation II (GII) CSF assay for detection of Alzheimer’s disease(β-Amyloid (1-42), Phospho Tau, Total Tau), requiring a significant change to the specimen collection requirements.
