Head to Health Tender Now Open
As part of the 2019-2020 Budget, the Australian Government announced it would invest $114.5 million over five years to undertake a trial of eight Adult Mental Health Centres, with one to be established in each state and territory.

The sites planning and development have been further informed by the Inquiry into Mental Health and all governments response to COVID-19. Read more...

PenCS Awards
The Pen CS Awards recognise excellence in data-driven quality improvement in general practice and Aboriginal Medical Services across Australia. Two general practices in country South Australia have been nominated, both Broughton Clinic and Goolwa Medical Centre have been nominated for the Patient Centred Care award. Read more...

Country SA PHN GoShare Practice Registration
Country SA PHN is funding GoShare for 12 months for general practices to support quality improvement and preventive health activities within our region. GoShare allows a practice staff member to send information embedded as a link in an SMS to patients. It can increase patient understanding and motivation to participate in preventative health campaigns and quality improvement activities. Read more…

Palliative Care Pathways
South Australia’s Palliative Care Strategic Framework (2022-2027) recognises that ‘families, and carers, deserve access to, and receive the best possible end of life and palliative care’. To support this, HealthPathways has developed a suite of palliative care pathways and referral pages with input from key members of the Statewide Clinical Network on Palliative Care, as well as experts in the field across SA including a number of GP Clinical Editors. Residential Aged Care Telehealth Support Grants

Breathe better on Yorkes - A new community asthma program
To help people ‘breathe better ’in the southern Yorke Peninsula, Asthma Australia has been funded by Country SA PHN to bring a new service to help tackle the high rates of asthma in the area. Driven and led by community members, it aims to be a value-add to local health care services. “We are excited to have this new asthma project coming to us here on Yorkes. This is going to be such a beneficial service for anyone living with asthma to gain more information and awareness and can hopefully give us the tools to be better prepared in case this should ever happen again” Cara said. Caring@Home Clinical Box for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people 
Caring@Home has released its free Palliative Care Clinic Box which includes a range of hard copy resources for families, health professionals and clinical services. These resources have been tailored for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to support families manage a variety of symptoms, including safely giving subcutaneous medicines for a person who chooses to be cared for at home. End of Life Discussion Starters
PCA Discussion Starter series and Card packs have been developed to reach into communities to normalise early conversations about the end-of-life, rather than waiting until more time-critical or medical-focused discussions need to occur. These free resources have been developed to help Australians work out what’s right for them if they were to become very sick or at the end of their lives. Order Here

Organisations who wish to apply for Country SA PHN tenders, and receive tender notifications must register on the e-Procurement system. SA Virtual care service for aged care providers
The South Australian Virtual Care Service (SAVCS) has been established aiming to provide timely access to high quality specialist care with rapid emergency assessment and pathway navigation enabling 70% of patients to avoid transport and ED presentation and/or admission where appropriate. Community Vaccinations
Country SA PHN will be funding a pop-up COVID Vaccination clinic at the South Australian Aboriginal Football and Netball Sport Carnival at Kilburn oval in Adelaide on Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October 2022. Vaccinations will be offered during the two-day carnival with free goodie bags to be provided for anyone who gets vaccinated. Free packets of antibacterial wipes are also being funded and provided to each sporting team to support safe practice. Read more...

Palliative Care ECHO Program 2023 (SAPMEA) – Exploring areas of interest: GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals
SAPMEA in partnership with Country SA PHN, Adelaide PHN and the Rural Support Service will deliver a six session ECHO program run fortnightly across February 2023 - May 2023. The SA Cancer Plan
SA Health is developing a new five-year statewide cancer plan that will be informed by community experiences with cancer care in the state through YourSAy online consultation. The plan will provide clear guidance and consistency for SA Health and its partners about the priorities, future direction and approach to cancer care in South Australia. It will provide an agreed vision and direction for all elements of cancer care – prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and palliative care.

Seeking interview participants for ARC-funded ‘Autonomy in Reproductive Genomic Testing’ project
This bioethics project is investigating the experiences and attitudes of health professionals towards the concept of ‘reproductive autonomy’ in relation to the use of genomic testing in pregnancy. It is funded by the Australian Research Council and has research ethics approval from the University of Sydney (Ref: 2021/651).
